Big 12 Conference Schedule Announced for WVU Women’s Basketball

The conference schedule for the West Virginia women’s basketball team has been released. A new era of basketball in Morgantown will take place under head coach Dawn Plitzuweit, who was hired in March.

WVU will begin this year’s conference slate as the 2022 calendar year closes out on December 31st, playing host to Oklahoma for a New Year’s Eve showdown inside the WVU Coliseum with tipoff scheduled for 2 pm. From that point on, the work continues to be cut out for Plitzuweit. WVU will go travel to Iowa State and then Kansas State.

The Mountaineers then return to Morgantown on Tuesday, Jan. 10, to face TCU and then Baylor five days later on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 3 pm. To finish out January, WVU takes on Kansas on the road on the 18th, welcomes Texas Tech on the 21st and battles TCU in Fort Worth, Texas on January 28.

February gets underway with a meeting with Texas at 7 p.m. WVU will then experience a two-game Oklahoma trip, facing Oklahoma on the 4th and then Oklahoma State on the 7th of the month.

Games against Iowa State, Kansas will be at home in the middle of February before going to Texas to meet the Long Horns on February 19. The game is to be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. The Mountaineers will then conclude this Texas trip by playing Texas Tech on the 22nd.

West Virginia’s final home stand of the season is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 25 against Kansas State at 6 pm and March 1 with Oklahoma State.

WVU concludes the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday, March 4 in Waco, Texas against Baylor inside the Ferrell Center.

The Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament inside Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri is scheduled for March 9 through 12.
