With West Virginia off for the second straight weekend, it’s once again time to take a look at what happened around the rest of the Big 12. But unlike last weekend, the Mountaineers did play this week, suffering a devastating loss in the final seconds in Houston.

Who else joined WVU among the losers of the week and which teams were able to pick up wins?

Iowa State gets over .500 with win over Cincinnati, 30-10

Kansas State takes down Texas Tech, 38-21

Teams on their bye weeks: Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas, UCF.

After the week, WVU is now among several other teams with one conference loss. Iowa State sits at 3-1 due to playing one extra game and not experiencing a bye yet. Oklahoma is the only unbeaten Big 12 team at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

If West Virginia beat Houston, Neal Brown’s team would be tied with the Sooners in the Big 12 standings at 3-0. Instead, the Hail Mary happened and WVU lost to Houston.

Takeaways: Houston Loss Provides Too Many Flashbacks to 2022 for WVU

Up next for the Mountaineers is a return home and a date with Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State. Kickoff from Milan Puskar Stadium between WVU and the Cowboys is set for 3:30 pm ET.
