Big 12 Tournament Seeding Determined, WVU Will Rematch Sooners

With the conclusion of the Big 12 regular reason Saturday evening, the seedings and matchups for the Big 12 Tournament have been determined.

With its victory over Baylor, West Virginia (21-10, 9-9 Big 12) ensured that it will not play on the first day of the tournament Wednesday. WVU will be the sixth seed in the tournament and play third seed Oklahoma (19-12, 9-9) on Thursday, March 12 at 9 p.m. EST.

The Sooners swept the Mountaineers in the season series this year, winning 69-59 at home and 73-62 at the Coliseum. Oklahoma won its regular-season finale against TCU Saturday, winning three of its final four games of the season.

Playing on Wednesday will be No. 8 Oklahoma State (17-14, 7-11) vs No. 9 Iowa State (12-19, 5-13) and No. 7 TCU (16-15, 7-11) vs No. 10 Kansas State (10-21, 3-15).

Playing before the Mountaineers on Thursday will be No. 4 Texas (19-12, 9-9) vs No. 5 Texas Tech (18-13, 9-9) at 12:30 EST. No. 1 Kansas (28-3, 17-1) and No. 2 Baylor (26-4, 15-3) will play the winners of Wednesday’s games at 2:30 and 7, respectively.

The semifinal will be on Friday at 7 and 9 p.m. and the finals will be Saturday at 6 p.m.
