BREAKING: David Long Jr. declares for the NFL Draft

Morgantown, WV – The offseason is getting well underway in Morgantown with news flying everywhere surrounding the Mountaineer football team.

This morning, redshirt junior linebacker David Long Jr. announced that he will forgo his senior season and declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Long has already graduated and has the support of his coaches and teammates. Following West Virginia’s loss to Syracuse defensive coordinator Tony Gibson said, “Whatever he decides to do, he’s done everything asked of him here. … If he comes back, obviously, he’ll have another great year. And if not, I’m going to hug him, tell him I love him and ‘Go give it your best.’”

In three seasons, Long registered 246 tackles 12.5 sacks and 40 tackles for loss, which is tied for 3rd on the all-time list.
