Bryce Ford-Wheaton scores TD for Giants to beat Geno Smith

Just when Geno Smith was on the verge of completing another comeback, another Mountaineer became the hero for the day instead.

After a rough game for the Seahawks until the final minutes, it appeared as if Seattle was at least going to send the game to overtime, but instead, Giants receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton ended up returning a blocked field goal all the way for a New York score. The big play by Ford-Wheaton capped off the Giants’ 29-20 victory on Sunday evening.

Smith finished the game completing 28-0f-40 passes for 284 yards. He threw his only touchdown pass on the Seattle possession before the one that preceded the blocked field goal.

The Seahawks have now lost back-to-back games following a 3-0 start to the season. Looking to get back on the right track, Smith will be back under the national spotlight when Seattle hosts their NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football on Oct. 10.
