Fitzpatrick wrote on Twitter, “First, I would like to thank God for blessing me, guiding me, and giving me the opportunity to do what I love at the next level. Next, I would like to thank my family for everything. Especially my brother John Fitzpatrick for always giving me advice on this process and making every single game. None of this would be possible without you guys. I would also like to thank my coaches, friends, and teachers for believing in me and always having my back. You helped shape me into who I am today. It has always been a dream of mine to commit and play college ball and today is that day. With that being said I’m excited to announce I am committing to West Virginia University to continue my academic and athletic career. #GoMountaineers”
He received a PWO offer in July 2021, and is anticipated to join head coach Neal Brown’s program in 2022.
