โ€œHis deep love for West Virginia University was evident in everything he didโ€”as a graduate, donor, public servant, fan, and former faithful member of the WVU Alumni Association Board. Doug believed in the power of education, community, and service, and he gave generously of his time and spirit to support our students, faculty, and staff. We are heartbroken by his passing and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.โ€

The WVU Alumni Association also posted a message ย on the organizationโ€™s official account.

โ€œThe WVU Alumni Association mourns the loss of our longtime friend and former Board member, Doug Skaff. A proud Mountaineer, Doug made every community he touched better. Our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones.โ€
