Duquesne Transfer DB with WVU Football Offer Sets Commitment Date
The WVU football staff only has to wait until Friday to learn if they landed a transfer defensive back. Duquesne transfer Ayden Garnes announced that he will be revealing which school he’ll be committing to in just a few days.
Listed at 6-foot and 170 pounds, Garnes visited West Virginia this past weekend in the same week he earned an offer from the Mountaineers. His offer from WVU joins the many others he’s been receiving since announcing he’s transferring from Duquesne on Nov. 28.
I’ll making my commitment Friday, Still gonna honor my Grandfather on the 20th..

After not seeing any action as a redshirt freshman in 2021, the Monsignor Bonner High School product out of Philadelphia, PA has become a significant impact player for the Dukes over the last two seasons.
Garnes recorded 33 total tackles with two interceptions in 2022 and then took a big jump with 51 overall tackles and two more picks in 2023. He also has occasionally returned kickoffs and punts. He had three tackles against the Mountaineers this season.
Coming off being named a first-team All-NEC member, Garnes has two more years left of eligibility. To this point, he also has offers from Appalachian State, Ball State, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, FIU and Temple.
