The WVU football program is taking a step towards addressing the defensive line by sending an offer to a transfer with major conference experience.

West Virginia sent an offer to Syracuse transfer Terry Lockett on Tuesday. Lockett returned to X (Twitter) for the first time since September to announce his WVU offer in the midst of several others.

Lockett joined the mass exodus of Syracuse players after their disappointing 2023 season resulted in the dismissal of their coaching staff. The Mountaineers extended the offer less than 24 hours after Lockett entered the Transfer Portal.

After being a top rated recruit out of high school in 2021, Lockett spent three years in the ACC at Syracuse and recorded 45 total tackles. He posted 25 tackles in 2023 as a way to rebound from only appearing in four games the previous season.

You can find Lockett and other transfer players listed on our partner the Portal Report’s database.
