Former WVU Forward Enters Transfer Portal for Second Time

Former WVU F Jamel King has entered the transfer portal, he tells The Portal ReportKing spent this past season at Kennesaw State after playing at West Virginia for two seasons.

King transferred to Kennesaw State last offseason, averaging 7.9 points and 2.7 rebounds in 30 games. The Uniontown, Al. native shot 41% from the field and 34% from three for the Owls.

King was with West Virginia’s basketball program from 2021-23, appearing in 16 games. King transferred out after WVU’s loss in the NCAA Tournament. King was a high school recruit out of the 2021 class as a three-star prospect.

The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, with the entry window lasting for 45 days until May 1. The NCAA is allowing all multi-time transfers to be immediately eligible next season.

West Virginia’s current roster has not had any transfer entries as this story is being published. WV Sports Now will provide transfer recruiting updates throughout the offseason.
