Neal Brown continues to add to an impressive 2021 recruiting class with Maryland wide receiver Kaden Prather announcing his commitment this afternoon.

Prather (6-foot-3, 210 lbs.) is a four-star receiver prospect from Germantown, Maryland. 247Sports rates Prather as the 53rd best receiver in the 2021 class and the 13th best recruit out of Maryland.

West Virginia first offered Prather last June. Prather made a visit to Morgantown in March and in April, he listed WVU among his top-five schools alongside Penn State, Maryland, Oklahoma and South Carolina.

Prather had 42 receptions for 895 yards and nine touchdowns for Northwest High School last season and received a ton of attention from power five schools. Prather had more than 30 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Pitt, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Texas A&M.

Prather had received a lot of attention from Penn State especially. According to rivals, Prather made seven visits to Happy Valley. West Virginia’s new offensive coordinator, Gerad Parker was most recently Penn State’s wide receivers coach last season.

Prather is the tenth verbal commit to WVU’s 2021 class. He joins defensive ends Brayden Dudley and Hammond Russell, tight ends Treylan Davis and Victor Wikstrom, running back Jaylen Anderson, quarterback Will Crowder, tackle Wyatt Milum, receiver Andrew Wilson-Lamp and safety Saint McLeod.
