Ohio running back Jaylen Anderson has committed to WVU, he announced on his Twitter this evening.

Anderson (6-foot, 210 lbs.) is a four-star running back from Perry, Ohio. He is rated as one of the best running backs in the 2021 class. rivals has him as the 11th best back in the class and 247Sports has him at 14. Both sites also rate him as the second-best running back in Ohio, behind Corey Kiner.

Anderson chose WVU over offers from Duke, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn, Pitt, Temple and Utah. West Virginia offered Anderson in June and he visited Morgantown at the beginning of February.

West Virginia’s running backs coach, Chad Scott, seemed especially excited by the news on Twitter.

Anderson is the seventh member of WVU’s 2021 recruiting class. Quarterback Will Crowder and defensive end Hammond Russell committed last week joining tackle Wyatt Milum, receiver Andrew Wilson-Lamp, tight end Victor Wikstrom and safety Saint McLeod.
