MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following West Virginia’s 17-6 victory against Pitt in the 106th edition of the Backyard Brawl, head coach Neal Brown provided a brief update on starting quarterback Garrett Greene.

Brown said Greene was in a boot following the injury and will provide an update on Greene’s status on Monday. Brown noted Greene wanted to try and test out the injury but was held out the remainder of play.

Greene finished the game with a limited stat line, throwing two incompletions on two attempts. Nicco Marchiol replaced Greene and completed six passes on nine attempts for 60 yards and a touchdown. Marchiol earned a 159.3 passer rating and completed 67% of his throws.
