Geno Smith must’ve forgot to bring his bag of magic with him on this NFL Sunday.

Smith, who had been playing at such an elite level people were making an MVP case for him, picked a bad time to have one of his worst games of the season. The Seahawks lost to Carolina 30-24 in a game Seattle trailed from start to finish.

The West Virginia product rebounded from two costly first half interceptions, leading his team to three touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters. However, Seattle could never make up for the 17-0 deficit early in the game and the Panthers were able to hold on for the win.

Smith’s final stat line read as completing just 21 out of 36 pass attempts for 264 yards, throwing three touchdowns, two picks and a rating of only 85.9. He did also add 20 yards rushing.

The loss now drops the Seahawks to 7-6 with a critical Thursday Night Football showdown with their NFC West division rival San Francisco 49ers coming up.
