A GoFundMe page has been set up for the late WVU women’s basketball guard Jessica Morton.

Morton, who played for the Mountaineers from 2014-16, was announced to have died by the university on August 29th. She leaves behind a large family, including 4 young children.

It states on the GoFundMe page that it was set up by friends and former teammates, not her family.

The West Virginia women’s basketball program released their thoughts and prayers on Monday night.

“We are so sad to hear about the passing of former Mountaineer guard Jessica Morton (2014-16). She will be deeply missed and will always be remembered. Once a Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer.”

Morton was a native of Augusta, Ga. that played two seasons at West Virginia under head coach Mike Carey. Morton appeared in 57 games, scoring 361 points for West Virginia.

Those so included to donate can do so by clicking here. The GoFundMe has raised just over $2,300 to this point out of a goal of reaching $15,000.
