Joining multiple pitchers and power bats to already commit to be part of the WVU baseball 2027 class, infielder Cooper Sievert announced his intentions on Wednesday.

“I’m excited to announce my commitment to West Virginia University. Thank you to the coach staff at West Virginia for everything. LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!,” Sievert posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Sievert (5-foot-11 and 180 pounds) plays both short-stop and third base for Wisconsin Lutheran.

It’s unclear where West Virginia would place Sievert, but his athleticism makes him a valuable asset all over the diamond. Offensively as a hitter, he has an exit velocity that’s topped 96.1.
