Sophomore Kirsten Deans scored a career-high 30 points to lead the West Virginia University women’s basketball team to an 81-75 win on the road Saturday at Texas, running the Mountaineers’ win streak to double-digits at 10 games.

The win also marked the first time WVU (15-2, 9-2 Big 12) has swept the Longhorns (13-5, 7-4 Big 12) in the regular-season series since joining the Big 12 in 2012.

Deans is the second Mountaineer to hit the 30-point milestone this season while four of West Virginia’s five starters scored in double figures.

Senior Kysre Gondrezick continued her stellar play with 20 points Saturday while sophomore forward Esmery Martinez had 12 points and Kari Niblack finished with 10 points. Martinez also had a team-high 13 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season.

West Virginia returns home on Wednesday to host Kansas. Tip-off at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the game broadcast on the Big 12 Now streaming platform via ESPN+.
