Sophomore forward Oscar Tshiebwe has stepped away from the West Virginia basketball team due to personal reasons, WVU announced Friday morning.

“Oscar has our full support, and we certainly wish him the best during this time,” WVU coach Bob Huggins said.

Tshiebwe has had a down sophomore season thus far, averaging 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds this season. The Mountaineers are scheduled to play on the road at Oklahoma tomorrow at 4 p.m.

A press conference with Huggins is scheduled for later this morning at 11:30 a.m.
