Report: WVU to Meet Virtually with UAB HC Andy Kennedy on Friday

After it appeared as if UAB head coach Andy Kennedy shut down the rumors to WVU on social media earlier in the week, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman reports that AD Wren Baker will meet with Kennedy over Zoom on Friday.
Goodman also reports that Baker has hired a search firm and is hopeful to have a new coach by Monday.

Kennedy served as the interim coach at Cincinnati after Huggins stepped down back in 2005 for the same situation. Kennedy went on to coach the Bearcats for one year before heading to Ole Miss until 2018. The 55-year-old went back to his alma mater at UAB, where he’s taking the Blazers to the NCAA Tournament in 2022. UAB won 29 games this past season as well.
On Thursday night, Adam Zagoria reported that WVU officials met with assistants Josh Eilert and Ron Everhart in a “fact-finding” discussion.
