Even though the actual game itself didn’t go well for the Mountaineers, there was still one positive for the WVU football program to come out of Saturday – it served as an opportunity to showcase the program to recruits. And some of the many West Virginia recruits who attended the biggest home opener in Morgantown since 1998 shared their experience on Sunday.

Below are just some of the high school players who posted about their visit on social media.

Carter Scruggs (2026 4-Star OL, VA)

Brock Biggs (2028 QB/TE, KY)

Jimmy Gregg (2026 Punter, WV)

Xavier Jackson (2026 DB, NJ)

In addition to these select recruits, most of the players who were at the Penn State game as guests of the Mountaineers can be found in our story leading up to the game.

Here are several of the star prospects who were there.

Scotty Fox (2025 QB Commit, OH)

Brodie McWhorter (2026 QB Commit, GA)

Matt Sieg (2026 4-Star, PA’s WPIAL)

Romando Johnson (2025 3-Star Edge, FL)

Daiveon Taylor (2026 3-Star LB, PA’s WPIAL)
