MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – As WVU guard Taz Sherman begins to end the chapter at West Virginia, the fifth-year senior guard reflected on his time in Morgantown.

“The teammates that I’ve been around, the diversity, the different types of people that I’ve been able to meet since I got here. I feel like relationships and friendships are more important than basketball,” Sherman said. Being able to have those type of conversations 20 years from now with your former teammates about the fun we had.”

Sherman has spent three years at West Virginia after transferring from Collin College, a JUCO in Texas. Sherman raised his point per game average over his three seasons averaging 5.3 points his junior year, 13.6 points his senior year and 18.1 so far in his fifth-year. The 6-foot-4 guard is shooting 41 percent from the field in his career. Sherman most recently become the 55th Mountaineer in program history to record 1,000-career points.
