Watch: Gavin Kelly’s Blast Ignites Crowd, Gets WVU Baseball Back in Game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Igniting life into the WVU baseball lineup and the fans in attendance, Gavin Kelly blasted a two-run shot to cut into Kentucky’s lead.

Going yard with a runner on in the top of the third inning, Kelly’s home run made the score 6-2 after the Wildcats opened up the game with four runs in the first and two more in the second.

West Virginia then added two more runs in the fourth, giving them four runs off five hits and an error through four innings. In contrast, Kentucky has six runs off six hits. Failures to convert a double plays allowed Kentucky to stack their early-game runs.

West Virginia defeated Binghamton 10-1 in their regional opener on Friday night.
