Country Roads at Wrigley Field

No matter where it’s played, everyone seems to know the words to the “Take Me Home, Country Roads” song.

And on Saturday night, the song that’s become synonymous with West Virginia and WVU took over Wrigley Field in Chicago during a rain delay. In this video a broadcaster for the Cubs Radio Network posted on Twitter, the crowd can be heard singing the words to the song that members of Mountaineer Nation sing after a WVU win.

The game eventually resumed and the Cubs lost to the Cleveland Guardians, granted the highlight of the night happened during the delay.

Thank you to Mother Nature and baseball fans for making this moment possible.

As random as this was, this is far from the first time a crowd started singing Country Roads at a non WVU sporting event.
