WVU Baseball Announces Schedule Changes
On Thursday, the WVU baseball team announced that their game against Canisius on Feb. 24 has been canceled due to forecasted cold temperatures.
This change in the schedule will move the Mountaineers’ home opener to Wednesday, Feb. 25 against Ohio at Kendrick Family Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Fans with tickets for Tuesdayโs game can use that ticket for Wednesdayโs game or can exchange that ticket for a ticket to a future home game this season of equal or lesser value at the Mountaineer Ticket Office at the WVU Coliseum or by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME. Exchanged ticket seat location is subject to availability.
WVU opened the 2026 season by completing a sweep after winning both legs of a Saturday doubleheader at Georgia Southern, winning 11-10 in the opener thanks to Gavin Kellyโs eighth inning base running before two bases loaded walks in the seventh put them over the top in the night cap.
West Virginia dominated game one of the series 15-3, held on for an 11-10 win in game two and then won game three 5-2 to start the season 3-0.
WVU will return to action at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, facing Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.
