Published

The West Virginia Mountaineer head baseball coach Randy Mazey and his staff sets a new  program recruiting record. According to Perfect Game USA, WVU comes in 21st nationally. That broke the previous record of 28th that was set a year ago.

The Mountaineers were able to retain two recruits that were drafted in the Major League Baseball draft. Left-handed pitcher Daniel Batcher out of Lakeland, Florida was drafted in the 33rd round by the Toronto Blue Jays and catcher/infielder Matt McCormick from Orland Park, Illinois was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 40th round.

This is coming after a season the program hosted their first NCAA Regional in 64 years and finished in the top five for the first time in 37 years.
