WVU Baseball Game Against Penn State Gets Canceled

Due to forecasted inclement weather, the game between the WVU baseball team and Penn State scheduled for March 17 has been canceled.

Fans with tickets for Tuesday game can exchange that ticket for a ticket to a future regular season home game this season of equal or lesser value at the Mountaineer Ticket Office at the WVU Coliseum or by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME. Exchanged ticket seat location is subject to availability.

A week after dropping out of one national poll, the Mountaineers are firmly ranked within all three. West Virginia opens the new week at No. 18 in Baseball America and No. 20 in both Perfect Game and D1 Baseball.

After falling in Friday’s series opener, WVU claimed the rubber match in their road series against Baylor on Sunday as junior left-hander Maxx Yehl fired eight scoreless innings, striking out 12 batters and allowing just three hits, all singles. The Mountaineers (13-4, 2-1 Big 12) won 8-0.

The Mountaineers will return to the Kendrick Family Ballpark from March 19-21 to host BYU. First pitch on Thursday is set for 6:30 p.m.
