WVU Basketball Announces Pair of Non-Conference Home Games

WVU Basketball officially announced two non-conference home games against Iona and Mercyhurst.

vs. Iona | Nov. 20

vs. Mercyhurst | Dec. 22

This will mark the first meeting between both schools for West Virginia. Times and networks will be announced at a later date.

Mercyhurst is entering its first season in Division-I basketball while Iona is beginning its second season under head coach Tobin Anderson, who coached the second 16-seed to defeat a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament while at Fairleigh Dickinson. Iona went 16-17 last season.

In addition to Iona and Mercyhurst, West Virginia has Robert Morris, Georgetown and the Battle 4 Atlantis for the non-conference schedule. WVU will also play Pitt in the Backyard Brawl in Pittsburgh and host UMass at an unannounced date.

WVUโ€™s matchup vs. RMU will be the season opener and the game against Georgetown is the Big East-Big 12 Battle annual game.

The Battle 4 Atlantis will take place from November 27-29 in the Bahamas,ย with the field consisting ofย Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma and Providence.

West Virginia has two more games to schedule for the non-conference slate, which will also be announced when finalized.
