WVU Basketball officially announced two non-conference home games against Iona and Mercyhurst.

vs. Iona | Nov. 20

vs. Mercyhurst | Dec. 22

This will mark the first meeting between both schools for West Virginia. Times and networks will be announced at a later date.

Mercyhurst is entering its first season in Division-I basketball while Iona is beginning its second season under head coach Tobin Anderson, who coached the second 16-seed to defeat a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament while at Fairleigh Dickinson. Iona went 16-17 last season.

In addition to Iona and Mercyhurst, West Virginia has Robert Morris, Georgetown and the Battle 4 Atlantis for the non-conference schedule. WVU will also play Pitt in the Backyard Brawl in Pittsburgh and host UMass at an unannounced date.

WVU’s matchup vs. RMU will be the season opener and the game against Georgetown is the Big East-Big 12 Battle annual game.

The Battle 4 Atlantis will take place from November 27-29 in the Bahamas, with the field consisting of Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma and Providence.

West Virginia has two more games to schedule for the non-conference slate, which will also be announced when finalized.
