A second member of the West Virginia football team has tested positive for COVID-19, WVU Athletics announced in a release this afternoon. WVU announced that one player tested positive for the virus on Monday, the first day the Big 12 allowed for voluntary workouts to begin.

Both infected individuals will be placed in a 14-day self-isolation, as well as any other student-athletes they may have been in contact with, the university announced.

Positive COVID-19 tests have been announced across the Big 12, with Texas announcing a high of 13 positive tests earlier this week. Seven of the 10 Big 12 schools have announced positive COVID-19 tests for athletes.

In response to the spread of the coronavirus, WVU recently announced that the athletic department will use exclusively mobile ticketing for the 2020 football season.
