The Mountaineers are in the mix for another Division II star, this one on the defensive side of the ball. WVU Football is one of the 31 programs who have offered Slippery Rock transfer cornerback Kanye Thompson since he entered the transfer portal.

Thompson reposted a report from On3Sports’ Hayes Fawcett with his offers on social media.

In addition to West Virginia, Power Four schools like Arkansas, Boston College, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, Pitt, TCU, Texas Tech, Stanford, Syracuse, Virginia and Wisconsin have offered Thompson. He even has notable offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Boise State, FAU, Marshall, Memphis, Temple, USF and several others.

Thompson, a native of McKeesport, Pa., recorded 85 tackles, 13 deflections and four forced fumbles during his time at Slippery Rock. He also returned four kickoffs and 14 punts in two years as well.
