Listed at 6-foot-2 and 165 pounds, Lackey plays on both sides of the ball for Newton High School. Lackey is regarded as a wide receiver by On3 Sports and a cornerback by Rivals as far as how he’s viewed by major outlets.
WV Sports Now reached out to Lackey and confirmed that he’s being recruited by West Virginia as a cornerback.
WVU’s offer is among the most recent out of the schools on Lackey’s top 10. The Mountaineers extended an offer to Lackey on Jan. 30, just a few days after Michigan State made their interest official.
