Brown, WVU Football add Key Administrators

Neal Brown’s inaugural staff at West Virginia is continuing to round into form.

While many of the coaches have already been hired, Mountaineer fans saw the addition of three administrative hires on Wednesday that will play a big part in shaping the direction of the program in the coming years.

West Virginia announced on Wednesday afternoon that Brown has hired Mark Perry as the Director of Football Administration and Patrick Johnson as the Director of Football Ops. Additionally, Brian Bennett was brought on as the Director of Player Personnel.

All three guys worked with Brown at Troy.

“These guys did an outstanding job on our staff at Troy, and I am excited to have them join the West Virginia football staff,” Brown said in the release. “From an administrative viewpoint, they have a lot of great ideas that will help build the program brand, assist with cultivating a family atmosphere and make the student-athlete experience more enjoyable.”

Bennett comes to Morgantown having worked in the same capacity at Troy from 2015-18, where he helped put together the best four-year recruiting stint in program history.  from as the director of player personnel and Johnston as the on-campus recruiting director and assistant director of operations.

Perry, who played quarterback in the 90s under Hal Mumme at Kentucky, previously served as the Director of Football Ops at Troy. Johnson was the Assistant Director, coordinating on-campus recruiting.
