WVU Football Season Tickets Sold Out with Historic Number
Rich Rodriguez can cross one goal for his WVU return off his list, a goal he set at his opening press conference. The WVU football program has sold out of 2025 season tickets.
Making the announcement two days before kicking off the 2025 season at home against Robert Morris, West Virginia’s official number is 33,634, which is the highest season ticket total since WVU joined the Big 12 Conference in 2012.

In addition to the season tickets, the Backyard Brawl is also sold out. The 108th Backyard Brawl will take place on Sept. 13 and be Rodriguez’s first matchup against Pitt since the last game of his prior tenure back in 2007.
Earlier in the week, Rodriguez released his first official 2025 WVU football depth chart.
While few questions were answered, Rodriguez did reveal his starters for one very important position.
Landen Livingston, Nickย Krahe, Kimo Makaneโole, TyโKieast Crawford and Walter Young Bear appear to be West Virginiaโs starting offensive line.
On the other side of the ball, Eddie Kelly Jr., Eddie Vesterinen and Hammond Russell IV will be the top defensive linemen.
But beyond solidifying the trenches, the key positions are still left as an unknown. Unwilling to publicize his starting quarterback, wide receivers and other key spots on the roster, Rodriguez has those positions listed with an โorโ separating each player.
During the first โRich Rodriguez Showโ of the season, Rodriguez teased possibly employing a two-quarterback system.
โWe will definitely play multiple quarterbacks on Saturday, and that will probably be the case every week. Iโm not opposed to playing multiple guys,โ explained Rodriguez when asked if whoever doesnโt start will see the field.
West Virginia will open the 2025 season on Saturday, with kickoff from Milan Puskar Stadium set for 2 pm ET.
