WVU Football Signs 2025 3-Star Phillip Bowser to Bolster OL Depth

The WVU football staff added another piece to bolster their offensive line of the future by signing Phillip Bowser on Wednesday’s National Signing Day. Bowser is a new recruit and wasn’t even offered until Jan. 27.
Bowser’s offer came as he was wrapping up a visit to West Virginia. He picked WVU over 22 other Division I offers.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive tackle was also recently offered by fellow Big 12 program UCF on Jan. 24.
A product of Ursuline High School in Youngstown, Ohio, Bowser holds offers from Akron, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Marshall and Ohio among others. He’s also visited major conference programs like Kentucky, Maryland and Pitt throughout the past year.
Ohio State even offered Bowser in early December, granting him an opportunity to join the reigning national champions, granted likely with a tougher path towards actually getting on the field.
Both Rivals and 247 Sports rank Bowser as a three-star recruit.
