WVU Hockey Ignites Social Media with New ‘Almost Heaven’ Jersey

The West Virginia football program is no stranger to wearing alternate uniforms, but it’s now the WVU hockey team’s turn to unveil a new look.

And social media caught fire the moment the Mountaineers revealed their new icy “Almost Heaven” jerseys. This sweater incorporates multiple shades of blue with gold outlines.

These alternate jerseys shows mountains and trees at the bottom and a big image of the state of West Virginia on the chest. WVU’s WV logo is in gold and placed in the center of the state design. The helmet and gloves are show as either a dark hade of blue or gold.

National outlets like Bar Down and even Bleacher Report Open Ice helped spread the word about West Virginia’s new sweater by posting pictures on their platforms.

As for how the team is playing on the ice, WVU hockey is coming off a 5-1 win over Mercyhurst and will next host Pitt for a two-game series in Morgantown that starts on Nov. 4.
