Graduate transfer tight end Brian Polendey has committed to West Virginia, he announced on Wednesday evening.

Polendey is a 6-foot-5, 260-pound tight end. He spent two seasons at Colorado State. In 2021, he played in 11 games, but did not catch a pass. He made two tackles on special teams. In 2020, he started all four of Colorado State’s games, but was used exclusively as a blocker.

Before his two seasons with the Rams, he spent three seasons with Miami. He redshirted in 2017 and caught one pass in 2018 before suffering a season-ending injury. He appeared in six games in 2019 without recording any statistics.

A native of Denton, Texas, Polendey was a three-star prospect out of high school, when he picked the Hurricanes over offers from Arkansas, Colorado, Duke, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Michigan, Nebraska and UTSA.

Polendey will have one season of eligibility remaining.
