WVU offers Juco Safety

Published

The West Virginia football program just extended an offer to Trinity Valley Community College safety Greg Eisworth, but he did start his college career at Ole Miss.  The Mountaineers aren’t the only ones calling the 6-foot 190-pound safety. Iowa State, Colorado, Colorado State and Houston have also shown interest in the JUCO playmaker.

Eisworth is the complete package as a safety. He can cover up a receiver man to man, possesses the instincts to peek into the backfield to make a play on the ball, and is aggressive in the running game.  The West Virginia defensive staff likes a hard hitting secondary and Eisworth fits that mold and can make the open field tackle.

Safeties Coach Matt Caponi reached out to Eisworth extending the offer and it by the looks of it, he’s off to a good start in building a relationship. “It’s pretty good so far, this was the first time we’ve talked so far, so still trying to get to know each other,” Eisworth commented.

West Virginia has their work cut out for them to get Eisworth to Morgantown. Currently, he has two schools at the top of his list including Iowa State and Colorado but he says “there is a possibility” in WVU making the top of the list. “really just me checking out West Virginia.  It could happen, but I’ll have to do my research first”.
