Mountaineers in the Pros
WVU OL Doug Nester Signs as UDFA with Vikings
Despite not being drafted, WVU offensive lineman Doug Nester will receive his chance to make an NFL roster. The Minnesota Vikings signed Nester as an undrafted free agent late Saturday night. Nester’s agent Brett Tessler confirmed the news on X (Twitter).
The Minnesota Vikings are signing my client Doug Nester (G/T, West Virginia) to a rookie free agent deal. Major need for interior offensive line depth there.

While Frazier occupied most of the focus, Nester flew under the radar throughout the draft process after taking part in the East-West Shrine Bowl. Nester, who spent three years at WVU after initially starting his college career at Virginia Tech, is also coming off a season that saw him miss time with an injury.
After speculation Nester would declare for the NFL Draft after the 2022 season, he returned for one final year as a Mountaineer in 2023.
Below are Nester’s official measurements for his height, weight, arm length and hand size.
Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 308 pounds
Arm Length: 32 3/4
Hand Size: 9 3/4
