WVU Football Reveals Uniform Combo vs. Penn State

Not only is it important WVU plays well on a national stage, but they need to look the part, too. And as is tradition, the West Virginia football program officially kicked off a game weekend with a uniform reveal on Thursday night.

The Mountaineers will wear blue helmets, gold jerseys and blue pants.

When Neal Brown and his Mountaineers host Penn State at Milan Puskar Stadium, they will wear a traditional gold and blue look. This look appeases those who want to see West Virginia represent the state, school and entire fanbase by staying true to gold and blue color scheme.

It’s also only fitting WVU incorporates a sense of history while playing an old regional rival like Penn State.

WV Sports Now has been told by a source the WVU program was initially planning to debut their new Coal Rush uniform in the season opener, but changed their mind when the game was announced as “Big Noon Kickoff” game during the day.

West Virginia and Penn State will kickoff the 2024 season on Saturday in Morgantown, W.Va. Kickoff is set for noon ET and the pregame festivities begin at 9 am ET.
