WVU Women’s Basketball JJ Quinerly Big 12 Player of the Week

The WVU women’s basketball team is off to a hot start under new head coach Mark Kellogg, and now one of its top players has earned some recognition for leading the way.

JJ Quinerly was voted the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Quinerly averaged 23.5 points, 7.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 steals in two wins for the Mountaineers.

She scored 20+ points in each game, guiding WVU to wins over No. 25 Penn State and Delaware State.

While the Penn State win was more significant for the team, Quinerly’s best individual performance came against Delaware State on Sunday.

Quinerly posted a double-double with a season-high 25 points and a career-high 12 assists in the 107-43 victory. She even approached a quadruple-double, adding eight rebounds and seven steals.

This marked just the second player in NCAA DI history since the 1999 to reach that type of stat line in a game.

WVU Women’s Basketball now sits at a perfect 9-0 on the season. They’ll take the court next against Wright State at 10 am on Monday, December 18.
