WVU Football Recruiting
2022 Offensive Lineman Sullivan Weidman ‘110% Committed’ to West Virginia
It’s said often and it’s so true, college recruiting is a business and sometimes it can be nasty.
A verbal commitment isn’t official until National Signing Day so until then, college programs will continue to work on and recruit players that have already given a commitment elsewhere.
Thanks exactly what’s going on with current West Virginia 2022 commit Sully Weidman. The 3-star offensive lineman from Brookline, Massachusetts was actually the third player to commit to Neal Brown’s Class of 2022, which is currently ranked No. 22 by Rivals.
Prior to verbally committing on April 1, Weidman (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) also received offers from Arizona State, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
Programs are obviously trying to take advantage of WVU’s struggles in the first half of 2021 to try and get Weidman to flip his decision but it isn’t working.
The attention he’s receiving from other teams has gotten to the point where he released a statement last night on Twitter reinforcing his commitment to the Mountaineers.
I am 110% locked in! I am a full believer in Coach Brown, Coach Moore, and the rest of the WVU football staff! Stop asking me if I am going to decommit! #LetsGo pic.twitter.com/q2O0bdLOOa
