WVU Football recruit Jason Cross

Jason Cross will be taking those country roads from Pittsburgh to Morgantown. The class of 2024 athlete has committed to the WVU football program.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Cross attends Bishop Canevin High School. He announced his decision to pick West Virginia over Michigan State and Syracuse on Friday after previously promoting his commitment date.

Cross is considered a safety prospect by some and simply an athlete by others. He took an official visit to WVU three weeks ago, which was after his trip to Syracuse and just before heading over to Michigan State.

Cross’ athleticism is what makes him an attractive player to West Virginia. He also plays on his school’s basketball team and is listed as a safety by some outlets while simply an athlete by others. Cross is ranked among the Pennsylvania top recruits in his class, even receiving number six placement from 247 Sports.

WVU officially extended an offer to Cross in January.

Besides the Mountaineers and the others, Cross had offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Iowa State, Maryland, Penn State, Temple, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech as far as Power 5 schools.
