2024 Morgantown G Sharron Young Includes WVU in Top 7
2024 Morgantown G Sharron Young released his top seven schools on Wednesday night, including West Virginia.
Young’s full list consists of Akron, Kent State, Murray State, Ohio, Radford, West Virginia and Western Kentucky.
Young (6-foot, 150 pounds) is not ranked yet by the main recruiting databases but holds offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Drexel, Kent State, Mount St. Mary’s, Murray State, Northeastern, Ohio, Penn, Radford, Rhode Island, Southeastern Louisiana, SC State, West Virginia, Western Kentucky, Winthrop and Youngstown State. Young led Morgantown HS to back-to-back WV Class 4A State Championships in 2022 and 2023.
Young visited West Virginia back in February.
“Overall, it was an awesome unofficial visit. I feel extremely blessed to have had the full game day experience from watching the team walkthrough, touring the facility, meeting the coaching staff, being on the court during warm-up and attending the game with my family,” he said. “Being a kid from Morgantown, you grow up dreaming of a day like this. I think wearing the blue and gold means a lot when you’re from West Virginia.”
Morgantown High School HC Dave Tallman went into detail about how Young has improved.
“Sharron continues to improve each day and works hard in the weight room to get bigger and stronger. He’s a great kid off the court but a ‘dawg’ on the floor. He really knows how to flip that switch. He’s extremely fast and is a great floor general. His toughness is always present. He plays with a chip on his shoulder,” Tallman said. “We’re excited to have him back for one more run.”
