No. 2 Missouri Downs No. 20 WVU Wrestling 30-6
Defending Big 12 champion and No. 2 ranked Missouri handed the No. 20 ranked WVU wrestling team its second consecutive loss with a 30-6 victory on Friday night inside the WVU Coliseum.
The Tigers (8-0, 4-0 in the Big 12) are now victorious in all four matchups all-time against the Mountaineers, including last year’s 38-3 victory in Missouri.
This was the second straight dual meet where the Mountaineers faced a starting lineup where all 10 wrestlers were ranked, after West Virginia (8-3, 2-3) was dropped by then-No. 5 Oklahoma State.
Two Mountaineers were able to pick up victories against the highly-touted Tigers.
After the Mountaineers fell in an early 11-0 hole, No. 13 ranked Jordan Titus defeated No. 21 Josh Edmond in overtime on a sudden death tiebreaker at 141 pounds, avenging his first loss of the season against Oklahoma State.

Titus is now 18-1 on the year.
True freshman Ty Watters, ranked No. 9 at 149 pounds, followed with a 6-1 victory over No. 11 Logan Gioffre to close the gap to 11-6, but that was all the closer West Virginia would get.
Missouri then rattled off six-straight wins to close the match.
No. 5 Brock Mauller scored a 16-4 major decision over Alex Hornfeck at 157 pounds. At 165, No. 1 ranked Keegan O’Toole edged Mountaineers headliner Peyton Hall 8-7, giving O’Toole a victory over Hall in back-to-back years.
Peyton Mocco tallied a 5-1 decision over Jack Blumer at 174, Clayton Whiting defeated Dennis Robin 9-6 at 184, Colton Hawks scored a 2-1 decision over Austin Cooley at 197 and Zach Elam beat Michael Wolfgram 7-0 in the heavyweight matchup.
WVU wrestling will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when the Mountaineers visit Morgan State in Baltimore, Maryland.
