5 Things to Know Before WVU vs. TCU
WVU Basketball hosts TCU on Wednesday for their home finale and Senior Night. Let’s take a look at five things to know before the game.
First Matchup: TCU Took Momentum into Halftime
On Feb. 12, TCU defeated West Virginia 81-65 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Mountaineers stayed in the game for the first 15 minutes before TCU went on an 18-8 run into halftime. The Horned Frogs ended up cruising in the second half for a 16-point victory.
WVU turned the ball over 19 times with TCU scoring 26 points off of those mistakes. Trey Tennyson, Emanuel Miller and Jameer Nelson Jr. all led the way for TCU, each scoring 14 points.
Six WVU Seniors to Walk
West Virginia will have six seniors walk for Senior Night festivities on Wednesday: RaeQuan Battle, Jesse Edwards, Akok Akok, Quinn Slazinski, Kerr Kriisa and Patrick Suemnick. Kriisa and Suemnick are the only two players with eligibility following this season if they want to use their extra COVID year. Slazinski could possibly get another year as well as he’s looking for a medical redshirt for his second year at Iona.
The festivities will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.
WVU Trying to Fight Out of Last Place
With Oklahoma State losing on Tuesday night, a win for West Virginia against TCU could change the Big 12 standings. WVU and OSU have the same amount of conference wins at four with the Cowboys holding the tiebreaker over the Mountaineers.
Betting Lines
The spread for the WVU-TCU game is currently -4.5 TCU. The over/under is set at 151.5.
