It may have been a decade ago, but it’s still a record to this day.

Back on Sep. 29, 2012, so exactly a decade ago this week, 9th ranked West Virginia beat number 25 Baylor, 70-63. This was, and still is, the highest-scoring game ever between two ranked teams in the history of college football.

West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith threw for 656 yards and tied the Big 12 record with 8 passing touchdowns. Smith, who has been starting for the Seahawks this season, was recently inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame.
