Barry Moreland Enters the Transfer Portal

Redshirt senior cornerback Barry Moreland announced today that he had entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

This marks the second transfer from the Mountaineer program this week following defensive lineman Tyrese Allen’s announcement of his intent to leave the team on Thursday. It is currently unknown where he plans to finish his college eligibility. Moreland was expected to provide depth in the back end of the Mountaineer defense behind the likes of Keith Washington and Hakeem Bailey.

Moreland enrolled at WVU in 2017 after spending two years as a member of the football team at Central Lakes College, a junior college in Minnesota. The Illinois native played extensively in junior college but could not find the same success in Morgantown.

He spent his first season on campus redshirting while providing support through his play on the scout team. In 2018 as a redshirt junior, Moreland made his lone appearance of the season at home against Baylor.
