Best Virginia Advances in TBT Tournament after 79-63 Opening Round win

The West Virginia Mountaineer Basketball Alumni “Best Virginia” made their debut in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Friday afternoon inside the Siegal Center the home of the VCU Rams in Richmond, Virginia. Best Virginia won the opening round of the Richmond Region 79-63 over the Seven City Royalty (Old Dominion Alumni).

Jaysean Paige and Kevin Jones led the way with 17 points. GM and forward John Flowers produced 16 points and Devin Williams had 10.

The Elam score was set at 78 with the first stoppage of play under four minutes and an emphatic alley-oop from Truck Bryant to Jaysean Paige won the game as it brought the West Virginia faithful onto their feet.

A roster full of WVU head coach Bob Huggins former players played tough defense and won the battle of the boards on their way to the 16-point win in their TBT debut.

Best Virginia will play the Richmond Regional No.1 seed Overseas Elite Saturday at 5:00 pm on ESPN3
