Bob Huggins has just landed the highest-rated recruit to ever commit to West Virginia University.

Oscar Tshiebwe is a five-star recruit out of Hermitage, PA where he attends Kennedy Catholic High School. According to 247 Sports, he is the fifth-highest ranked center in the country and the 19th overall player in the class of 2019.

Checking in at 6′ 9″ and weighing 250 pounds, Tshiebwe is expected to start right away next season. He is widely known as the “best rebounder in the country” and will be counted on to bring the same energy defensively as current Mountaineer Sagaba Konate.

Tshiebwe chose West Virginia over Illinois, Baylor, and Kentucky, but it was rumored that Kentucky and the Mountaineers were his two finalists.

Tshiebwe was recruited by Assistant Coach Ron Everhart, Associate Head Coach Larry Harrison and Head Coach Bob Huggins.

Tshiebwe joins point guard Miles McBride as a part of the 2019 recruiting class.
