Defensive end Dante Stills was the team’s lone preseason All-American by Phil Steele, one of college football’s preeminent sports writers. Steele placed Stills on the his All-American second team defense.

Stills is coming off a seven-sack season, which led him to being named to the All-Big 12 team for Phil Steele last year. He was also named to the AP and Coaches All-Big 12 team. His 15 tackles for loss last season also sits at No. 10 all-time in program history.

Stills has 43.5 tackles for loss and 19.0 sacks in his career. In his career, he’s forced four fumbles and got his first and only interception last season. He has 111 tackles across 47 games and 26 starts in his four-year career.

Stills looks to anchor a defense that has last a lot to the transfer portal this off-season. The fifth-year senior is also looking to improve his draft stock as he enters his final season.

Stills has flirted with entering the NFL prior to each of the last two seasons, but barring an injury and subsequent redshirt he will have no choice to return following this year.
