Former WVU Basketball Player Gabe Osabuohien Suffered Injuries in Car Accident

Former WVU basketball player Gabe Osabuohien was in a car accident Saturday morning. He appears to have suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck, according to a Facebook post.

Pictures of Osabuohien in a hospital and an explanation of what happened was posted by Former WVU wrestler Tyler Mileto. According to Mileto’s post, the 24-year-old Osabuohien has two fractured vertebrae in his neck and a fractured nose.

Keddy Johnson tweeted that he’s talked with his former teammate.

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won a share of the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award.
